Sony's website did have a software update for the tv from the factory installed, so this was downloaded and installed on the TV also and the problem still exists. The problem still existed on the 2011 Sony Bravia - 1/2 second of occasional stutter when streaming from this large video folder.
I looked at the Serviio forum and noticed that whilst Serviio 0.5.2 has a profile packaged for Sony Bravia TV's (profile 9) in the config.xml profile, there is a "tweaked" profile specifically for 2010 Sony Bravia tv's on the forum, which I updated and tried again. However, the problem exists in the folder where there are approximately 1900 small video files encoded in mpg format - stuttering of about 1/2 second occasionally when streamed. On the 2011 Bravia (CX523), the problem still existed as it did when using Twonky - all files and folders can be seen and played. The 2011 Bravia is supposed to have extended "codec" - Yes, Serviio is supposed to be better for Sony - I have now tried the standard profile 9 config.xml file packaged with 0.5.2 version and also the recommended 2010 Bravia profile 9 config.xml file recommended but the problem still exists in 2011 - Twonky works ok on the Bravia TV's so the BDP should be no exception but serviio is recommended by Sony for their ranges.Īfter posting yesterday, I looked into server software and downloaded Serviio 0.5.2 and rang this. I think you could be right on the codec issue but it is strange as the files will play perfectly on the 2010 range (albeit numeric file restrictive) but stutter occasionally on the 2011 Bravia. Appears it's just the 2010 Bravia range that has a 1,000 file restriction. Thanks for all the replies guys.sorry it's taken me a day to come - yes I have tried Twonky too but will have a delve in the Twonky forums to see what comes up.at first glance, I couldn't see anything - yes the 2011 Bravia will see all the files as I tried Serviio on my CX523.
